SnapFyt FAQ

SnapFyt is an iOS app that finds where to buy any garment in a photo — screenshot, camera roll, or camera capture. Lasso a top, dress, shoe, or bag inside the image and SnapFyt returns exact-match and lookalike shopping results from real retailers, ranked by visual similarity and price.

The lasso is a freehand selection you draw around a single garment in your photo. SnapFyt sends only what you circled to its visual search engine, so a photo with a full outfit can be searched piece by piece — pants, then shoes, then bag — instead of matching the whole image at once.

Drawing a rough outline is enough. The app snaps the selection to the item edges automatically.

SnapFyt is free to download from the App Store and starts with a 7-day free trial. After the trial the Premium subscription is $39.99 per year, billed once annually. Premium unlocks unlimited outfit searches, whole-outfit tagging, and full results with prices and retailer links.

Subscriptions are billed by Apple through in-app purchase and can be cancelled at any time from the iPhone Settings app.

SnapFyt starts with a 7-day free trial — no charge until the trial ends. Sign up on the App Store subscription sheet, then use the app for a week. Cancel any time before day 7 from your iPhone Settings and you are not billed. Keep the subscription and it renews at $39.99 per year.

Photos you search are uploaded to SnapFyt's search pipeline, retained only as long as needed to return results and improve visual match quality, and are never sold or shared with third parties for advertising. SnapFyt is iOS-only today. The app requires iOS 17 or later and runs on iPhone and iPad. An Android version is not on the current roadmap; sign up for the mailing list on the landing page to be notified if that changes.

SnapFyt recognizes tops, dresses, jackets, pants, skirts, jumpsuits, shoes, bags, hats, and jewelry across women's, men's, and unisex styles. Formal, casual, streetwear, and workwear all work. Extremely custom or one-of-a-kind pieces will return closest lookalikes rather than exact matches.

SnapFyt returns two lists per search: exact matches (same or near-identical item) and lookalikes (visually similar alternatives, often cheaper). Exact-match accuracy is highest for items currently in stock at major retailers; vintage and sold-out pieces surface most reliably in the lookalike list.

Every result carries a similarity score and a direct link to the retailer, so you can judge fit for yourself.

Results are pulled from a real-time index of major online retailers and marketplaces, not from a curated affiliate catalog. Prices, stock, and product links reflect what each retailer is showing at the moment you search. Retailer coverage expands as the index grows.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by SnapFyt directly. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your Apple ID at the top, tap Subscriptions, tap SnapFyt, then tap Cancel Subscription. Your paid tier stays active until the current billing period ends.

Google's reverse image search matches the entire image and prioritizes visually identical web images, which mostly returns other blog posts and Pinterest boards showing the same photo. SnapFyt isolates a single garment inside your photo and matches it to buyable products in retailers' current inventory.

The result is a shopping list, not a search results page — that's the whole point of the lasso.

Screenshots from Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, or any other app work exactly the same way as a photo you took yourself. Save the screenshot to your camera roll or share it directly to SnapFyt from the source app, then lasso the piece you want to buy.

Yes — the lasso targets the garment, not the person. Whether the photo is a selfie, a photo of a friend, a runway shot, or a stranger on the street, the search runs on whatever piece you circle. SnapFyt does not perform facial recognition and does not identify people.

Sold-out items are marked in the results, and the lookalike list surfaces visually similar alternatives that are currently in stock — often across a range of price points. Sold-out results still link to the original product page in case the retailer restocks or the item resurfaces on resale sites.
